Eventually Your Head Will Touch The Floor!

Hi Liz,
One of my positive affirmations is one that encourages me to persevere, to practice and try harder, and not to give up in the face of obstacles.
It comes from an experience at yoga class. After I had practiced yoga for a few months we got a new teacher, Darla, who very gently guided us through our yoga poses. One of these poses was to stand with straightened legs in a straddle, and then bend our head down towards the floor while clasping the hands behind the back. None of us managed to push their head down further than just to the knees for a few weeks, but Darla would just say "practice and eventually your head will touch the floor".
Inspired by Darla and ambitious to become more flexible and apt in my yoga practice, I started practicing this at home a few days a week -
and one day, all of a sudden, I was able to touch my head to the floor! While this was "only" an accomplished yoga pose, it made me very happy and proud, as the lesson ran much deeper than that.
This has taught me that perseverance, continued practice and effort, and a strong, affirmative desire to overcome all obstacles will finally result in the goal that you set out to achieve! Nowadays, when I tackle anything that does not go smooth at first, or where I need more patience, practice, or encouragement, I often tell myself the same - with resolve and a grim smile on my face -
eventually my head will touch the floor! This short phrase has become a synonym and even a "battle cry" for me to not give up, no matter what I encounter, and however hard and far away the end goal appears.
