The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life ( uses the analogy of Swiss cheese as a metaphor for life itself.

Both my co-author and I are psychotherapists and wellness speakers, and underlying the essence of the book is the notion that life is not smooth and predictable like American or Cream Cheese.

Rather, life has holes, and it’s how you get through them that counts! Instead of wishing the holes away in our lives, the book’s ten self-help slices show readers how to get through life’s pitfalls without getting stuck in them!

In fact, it is the holes in our lives that give us depth of character and make our life rich in meaning, just as the larger the holes in the Swiss, the sweeter the taste of the cheese. Thus, we need holes in our lives to become who we are!

Who goes through life unscathed and never bruised? Instead of falling into “why does this happen to me thinking?” the Swiss Cheese Theory of Life takes each setback as a learning experience and shows how to take charge of your life with confidence. By embracing the holes in our lives, empower ourselves to transform negativity into optimism. Rather than get beaten down by life's disappointments, we can choose to learn from our setbacks and use them as stepping stones towards something better in our lives.

All too often people dig themselves deeper in a “hole.” Old patterns are hard to break, and only by learning to think more rationally can we “think straight to feel great!” We learn that fondue can never turn back into a block of cheese, and giving up the habit of regret is one of the greatest gifts that we can give ourselves.

Unproductive regret turns into productive regret as we look forward to the future to use lessons learned rather than live in the land of “woulda. coulda, shouldas.” And remember, there is no such thing as a perfect slice of cheese, so embrace your mistakes as they are the stepping stones towards success!

Life has holes - do not wish them away, but embrace them, because that’s what makes you, YOU!

So go ahead - smile and say CHEESE!

I like the sound of this book, as anything that has the potential to empower you to transform your negativity into optimism sounds like a good idea. Changing negative habits can be difficult so its good to have a guide to help you to do this. I feel that this book may be beneficial for everyone to read.
