Do you know how to use crystals sensibly?
This page talks about how to use the stones you own, and its aim is to make you aware that some stones do contain toxic material.
Caution: Please take note of the following information, and be informed. There are some crystals that have toxic components, and these may or may not be bound up inside the crystal.
To lower your risk from these stones, you should use your crystals with care, and handle them in a responsible and sensible way.
If you wish to use stones to make crystal essences or elixirs, use the indirect method, where there is glass between the stone and the water. Ensure you wash your hands after touching any raw unsealed stones of any kind, particularly if you do not know if they contain toxic components.
Use crystals sensibly, and where possible choose stones that are polished, tumbled or sealed. Even when sealed, still take care how you manage your use of your crystals and stones, particularly when they are broken, or are raw or natural stones.
This page may be added to at a later date, as new information becomes available.
Although the following list contains a number of stones that should be treated cautiously, please note that there may be other stones that are not listed here, so please be cautious with all stones.
Assume that every stone should be treated with care, and if you don't know treat it with caution.
Please take personal responsibility in your use of crystals, and use crystals sensibly, and if you are in doubt always act cautiously.
Note that some crystals that have been irradiated to change their color are said to contain residual radiation.

A good number of the stones on the list above are powerful healing crystals, and have many excellent benefits, so this is a method you can use that allows you to still take advantage of their vibration for healing.
If you keep stones that are known to be toxic inside a very strong sealed cloth bag the vibration will still come though without you having skin contact. This is a good way to use stones that are raw that are on the above list, or any you may be unsure of.
