The quartz structure brings many powerful qualities and benefits. Knowing about these can be highly beneficial when you choose to use a particular crystal.

Quartz is the most widespread mineral type on the planet and can occur in various formations. The form they occur in has many benefits over and above the quartz type a stone is made of.

When I say quartz type, I am referring to the many quartz varieties. For example Smokey Quartz, Rose Quartz and Amethyst are some of the well known quartz types.

These crystals are commonly identified by their color and what minerals they embody, and they will be found in a range of structures or configurations.

Use Their Structure To Tell Them Apart

Most people choose a specific crystal based on learning the metaphysical properties of that type of stone.

For example the bright purple Amethyst is well known due to its color, but how they occur and the quartz structure of an individual crystal will have an effect when you use it.

Further down the page you will see some natural Golden Healer crystals featured. The golden healer crystal type relates to the mineral-make-up of these stones.

Quartz Structure: Names Used

The names or labels used to describe a specific quartz structure vary. Various writers use their own words to describe them.

All of the pictures shown on all of the pages about quartz structure and formations are genuine pictures of a real crystal, and were not created by any device such as AI.

I have chosen, whenever I see another name in use, to add it to this and the other quartz formation and configurations pages to help to create clarity.

It is not about right or wrong, just someone's opinion when they create a name to describe a specific quartz crystal and its characteristics.

Quartz Crystal Meanings

Please note that many of the stones have links under their names. This is useful if you want to learn about the crystal variety as well.

In some cases links will take you to in-depth articles on a crystal type such as Clear Quartz, Citrine, Amethyst or Smokey Quartz for example.

The quartz structure, formations and configurations were originally all on one page, but to make it easier to manage they are now spread over three pages.

Until recently there were just two pages but is now distributed over three pages as more quartz formations were added to the two.

So I created a third page and made the two into three, in alphabetical order. This should make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Empathic Warrior Crystals

Empathic Warrior Crystals are stones that show damage somewhere on the stone, and this can be either on the point or sides.

This is one of the quartz formations that many people ignore, because they aren't the perfect pristine crystal.

Note that having one in your collection will benefit you when you don't know where to turn for help.

Crystals that have been damaged at some point in their journey, are wonderful to use when you are dealing with problems in your life, especially those that you have trouble knowing how to handle.

They emit a strong empathic energy that is good to help anyone who has a damaged relationship, or even when you simply feel that way, even if it may not be true.

This crystal configuration helps you to heal wounding, whether it is on the mental, spiritual or emotional level.

Enhydro Crystals

Enhydro Crystals are crystals that have water included inside the crystal, like a little bubble inside the stone.

This water was encapsulated within the inside of the piece of quartz during its formation.

Enhydro quartz crystals are excellent quartz formations to use to aid healing of emotional issues, and as well as that are powerful stones to assist change in your life.

They are supportive stone to aid you to feel empathy for another's situation, and may stimulate your imagination in a down to earth way.

Etched Quartz

Etched Quartz crystals come in various configurations, but they can be recognized by the presence of abrasions on the surfaces of the crystals.

They can be any color as long as they have natural etching on the stone.

The quartz formations of this crystal gives them healing properties that relate to their action to help you to gain access to healing information from the past.

Ancient civilizations such as Atlantis and Lemuria used crystals for healing and some of this information may be able to be accessed using these crystals, as it is stored in the etheric.

Use etched crystals in meditation, by placing them on your third eye chakra, which may aid you to access the information that is available in the spiritual realms.

Before entering the meditative state ask Spirit to give you what you require and be open to receiving the information you need.

You may learn knowledge from the past related to using crystals for healing.

Even if you may not be sure if you have received this knowledge, you may find that the information is there available to you when you are using crystals, and feel "intuitively" to use them in some special way.

Extra Terminations or ET Crystals

Extra Terminations or ET Crystals are crystals that have a single point on one end, and on the other end have multiple terminations.   

These are usually self healed crystals that have fully healed and regrown many terminations in the area where the crystal healed.

This is one of the quartz formations that can be very powerful for healers to use.

They help to bring energy in via the single point, and then broadcast it to a large area of the body via the multiple points.

If you use it as a crystal wand with the multiple points directed towards the body, this may help to bring healing to a range of areas that are being worked on, and at a higher level.

They are also believed to aid you to make contact with beings in the higher realms, such as angels, and beings from other galaxies or other areas of the universe.

Faden Quartz

Faden Quartz have specific quartz formations, that are characterized by a fuzzy white line running through them, which may vary in size but is quite clearly seen.

Many are tabular crystals and when this is the case, the Faden line will run parallel to the tabular side.

The line is a place where the crystal fractured and then healed afterwards, and this healing aspect makes them one of the premier healing crystals.

Most Faden quartz are clear quartz crystals but you may find some rare stones that are Smoky Quartz. 

Like all quartz crystals they are easy to program, and in particular you might like to use them for healing specific health issues.

Fairy Crystals

Fairy Crystals have a sweet delicate structure, and are lovely crystals to bring joy and happiness into your surroundings.

These quartz formations are fairly uncommon, as the crystals are so fine and delicate that they are easily broken so they require a lot of care to bring them out of the ground intact.

Due to the large number of points in these clusters they radiate energy in all directions, which means they elevate the vibration of the room where they are located.

Fenster Crystals

Fenster crystals are a high vibration variety of quartz, and are excellent crystals to use to aid spiritual growth.

The name Fenster comes from the German word for window.

They are called this as they are known for the many windows and openings on the faces of the crystals.

These crystals have some of the same type of natural terminations on the faces as Elestial Quartz, along with featuring natural triangular shaped quartz formations as part of the configuration of the crystal.

They are powerful stones to stimulate psychic visions, and the sight, commonly known as clairvoyance. You may use the openings or windows of these crystals during meditation.

Fensters Can Lead To Different Dimensions

Entering these chambers can lead you into different dimensions, where you can learn information about your soul's path and your purpose is for being here in this incarnation.

Fenster Quartz crystals are excellent for healing emotional issues, especially past life problems of a karmic nature.

Excellent to aid addictions and especially eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. These crystals vibrate strongly within the third eye and crown chakra, and may help you to go deeper into situations to find solutions. 

They are an excellent stone to aid you to heal the inner child, and to deal with unresolved childhood trauma.

A useful healing stone that is powerful to be used by anyone who sends energy, such as reiki or other distance healing modalities.

Generator: also called Merlin Crystal

Generators are also known as Merlin Crystal, and can be recognized by their symmetry, as they have six equal faces that are all symmetrical, and they meet perfectly at the point.

They can be found in a range of crystal types, and although many are Clear Quartz, you may find them as Rose Quartz, Citrine, Smokey Quartz, Snow Quartz or like the one shown here, made from Golden Rutilated Quartz.

Many are interesting pieces with amazing inclusions in the stone.

Powerful To Generate Energy

They are called a generator as they are powerful to generate energy, and help you to utilize the power of the earth's energy.

They are one of the more powerful quartz formations to add to your collection, as they are known to have a powerful effect on all aspects of your being, and will heal you physically as well as emotionally and spiritually.

You may find that many generators are actually man-made, but you can get naturally occurring pieces like the Snow Quartz above that is a natural crystal.

Some generators, in fact many, are man-made, in that they may have been cut from a larger piece of what is known as massive quartz into this configuration.

This is because it is known that this is one of the more powerful quartz formations to use for healing.

Geodes

Geodes are becoming more common, and they come in a range of sizes, from tiny Geodes to large pieces that may also be known as crystal caves.

Geodes like the one shown here, which is made of Purple Amethyst Crystal, are wonderful assets to have in your home or office.

If you are healer of any type, one of these beautiful pieces would be a powerful addition to your healing room.

Because Geodes are made up of a number of individual crystals, the energy of each crystal in the group can be utilized.

The vibration of large geodes will resonate within the surrounding area, as the energy flows out, to bring healing to those nearby. Yet this energy is softer and less intense, because it just flows out as required.

While a Geode is not really a quartz cluster, these two quartz formations have similar meanings. Both are made up of a number of individual smaller crystals combined together in one large piece of crystal.

They are excellent crystals to encourage connections between people, and may bring healing to anyone in the area where they are located, as they resonate a strong healing vibration.

Grounding Crystals

Grounding crystals are not common, and are characterized by the main face on these crystals being a large eight sided face.

Note: I understand that I talk about grounding stones elsewhere but be aware this is a different aspect of crystal energy as it relates to the quartz structure.

These quartz configurations are very helpful to assist you to deal with your life in a more down to earth way.

They may also assist you to work out how to rearrange your life so you can achieve more.

They help you to make a deeper connection with Mother Gaia, and may help you to be more in touch with the reality of who you are.

They can be used to help you to create a better connection to spirit, which makes them wonderful crystals to use for meditation.

These are powerful healing crystals for you to use as they are known to assist the healing of difficult health problems that have not responded to treatment.

Growth Interference Quartz

Growth Interference Quartz crystals are formed when another mineral comes in and lies on the crystal during its growth period. Later this other mineral dissolves away, leaving lines like carvings on the crystal.

The quartz structure of these crystals is known for the quite obvious section on them that looks like its been cut by a sharp saw.

They have quite beneficial qualities that may assist you when you are accessing the higher realms.

Their energy helps to remove any hindrance that is standing in the way of your spiritual progress.

This energy is also helpful to remove energy blockages, and this vibration will align the chakras, and may be used for kundalini activation.

They are excellent healing stones, and will help you in many different ways.

They are also good protective stones, specifically for protection from physical danger, and are said to be particularly useful to protect children.

Isis Quartz

Isis Quartz crystals are commonly clear quartz, but they may occur in other varieties of crystals.

The major way of identifying the specific quartz structure talked about here is that the primary face on the crystal has five sides.

As well, the two top sides of the face are longer than the two bottom ones that join the base.

These crystals are also known as Manifest Spirit Crystal, as the five sides form a pentagon, a major spiritual symbol that aids your connection to spirit or the Divine mind.

They are named for the Egyptian Goddess Isis, and their energy is also associated with Mother Mary.

Isis Quartz Represents The Five Elements

The sides are also said to represent the five elements, earth, fire, water, wind and storm.

These are amongst the most gentle yet powerful crystals that you can use for healing, as they have a beautiful sweet nurturing energy.

Their vibration is excellent for healing emotional issues, and they have a strong feminine vibration.

They are useful for healers to use in their healing practice, as they may prevent you from getting drawn into others energy, especially if you find similarities between their situation and yours.

Japan Law Twin

Japan Law Twin crystals are one of the less well known quartz configurations.

They form in two different configurations, one where the stone is V shaped, with a thin tabular aspect and another quartz structure where they look a little like a butterfly.

The metaphysical properties of these quartz crystals relate to their function to cleanse the auric field.

They have a good action to help to clear the aura of the build up of negativity, and help to lessen any muddiness within the subtle bodies.

They help you to understand the dissimilarity between the physical state and the spiritual conditions within your auric field.

They have good healing action in the body and may aid the restoration of the health of the cells of the body.

They are known to help you to feel more positive, and may assist you to release feelings of anger, and to view the future more optimistically.

Key Crystals

Key Crystals have a quite obvious cavity in a face of the crystal, and this cavity is usually a penetrating three or six sided indentation, like the one shown here.

This small crater or hollow is caused by another crystals presence during the growth of this crystal, which later is removed.

The energy of this quartz structure has an excellent action to aid you to open yourself to new healing methodologies or ideas, and may also help you to discover hidden aspects of yourself.

Use them to find answers to unsolved questions, and to assist you to make decisions about your life journey.

Laser Wands

Laser Wands are naturally occurring long slim crystals that are usually fatter on one end than the other, even if only slightly.

These crystal wands may be a classic double terminated crystal, which are powerful healing tools, or they can have one termination point.

Double terminated laser wands will both receive energy and transmit it from both ends of the crystal, this makes them wonderful tools to utilize when doing healing.

Healers recognized that this quartz formation had a very strong vibration, and that healing energy  could be channeled using these lovely healing tools.

So the natural next step from the use of these natural wands was to make man-made carved wands, that resemble the natural wands.

Lemurian Seed Crystals

Lemurian Seed Crystals are quartz configurations that are commonly used by light workers.

Light workers are individuals who have chosen to work on aiding the planet and humanity at this time.

They have a specific quartz structure and attributes that make them powerful crystals to use for healing.

They are also excellent healing stones, and are especially helpful for personal healing, particularly of emotional issues.

The best way to use them is in meditation, when they can be used to retrieve ancient information about the Lemurian people.

Lemurian Seed Crystal Colors

Lemurian quartz crystals are commonly clear quartz, but they may also be golden healers, like the one pictured here. Some are even green, see in-depth page (link above) for pictures.

It is the various minerals in the soil of the area where they are found that creates the green or golden color, and these more unusual colors are now becoming quite sought after.

The Golden Healer Lemurian Quartz Crystals that are now commonly being discovered, come from earth that has a high level of iron-hydrate in the soil where they formed.

These orange crystals may have a covering on the outside as well as within the crystal. This gives them extra attributes on top of the normal qualities of this type of crystal.

Names Used For Formations Are Constantly Changing

Quartz crystals have been described in a number of different ways by a great many writers and the names they use are constantly evolving.

While I have covered a good many of the quartz formations and the specific crystal configurations, this is not all of them and there may be many more added over time.

The interest in crystals is dynamic and changing and new names are being used to describe a great number of new and interesting pieces that are being discovered.

This is a picture of my two Amethyst Geodes, taken the day they arrived, sitting in the garage.

I could not decide whether to get the deep purple one or the lighter ones, so they both came home!

They now sit in the bottom shelves of two of my crystal cabinets in my living room, such beautiful energy to fill my home!
