While they are a type of blue agate, their color can be a mix of shades of blue and some pieces may also be a lavender blue or violet shade.

Many agate type have stripes and this is also possible in these stones. 

These stones are said to be rare but check with your favorite crystal suppliers as pieces are still being found although they are no longer common.

Some sellers also have old stock that they are now selling so they can still be purchased if you want some.

You will also see it selling as Holly Blue Agate or Holly Blue Chalcedony. Confused? Yes I know it can be tricky but they are the same stone.
